The true story of Ray Johnson (Beau Bridges), a convict who spent most of his life in and out of prison until he finally decided to turn his life around. At one point young Ralph Macchio sports a red, punk mohawk and jams out to some avant-garde rock music in the garage with two garishly dressed punk friends which turns into a "YOU'RE NOT MY REAL DAD" style confrontation with Beau.
