When his only son (Vincenzo Crocitti) is killed by a stray bullet from a bank robbery that was occurring across the street, a meek middle-aged man (Alberto Sordi) is devastated and the news is so shocking to his wife Amalia (Shelley Winters) that she has a stroke and is no longer able to speak or walk. Giovanni doesn’t trust the system to bring the killer (Renzo Carboni) to justice, so he decides he must take justice in his own hands. The film, which is based on the novel ‘A Very Normal Man’ by Vincenzo Cerami, who also wrote the screenplay, is filled with many memorable moments.
