In this Italian comedy which translated into English is titled: "Handsome, honest man, emigrated to Australia, would like to marry an innocent woman from his hometown", a poor Italian immigrant Amedeo (Alberto Sordi) seeks an Italian wife through letters to Carmela (Claudia Cardinale) in Rome.
