After spending eight years in prison for crimes he did not commit, James Hunter (James Franciscus) is released and sets out to clear his name by finding the man who framed him.... his mysterious former boss, Mr. Ingersoll. Hunter enlists the help of a cop (Ned Beatty) and high-end prostitute Marty Shaw (Linda Evans). This pilot episode leads Hunter to a military reunion celebrating one General Meeker (Broderick Crawford), who was Ebersole's commanding officer in Korea.
